Catalan serfouette, all-purpose tool for working on the ground, it combines the action of a hoe and a claw.

It therefore allows you to hoe, weed, scrape, scratch, dig, aerate, hill, weed, etc.

Hoe: 13 x 6 cm / Claw: 11 x 6 cm / Handle: 40 cm

Forged by hand, each piece is unique.

Made by Pallares, blacksmiths since 1917 in Solsona, at the foot of the Spanish Pyrenees.

To extend their exceptional lifespan, the tools are pre-treated by PALLARES: the metal parts are oiled and the wooden handles are waxed. These protective layers will help prevent damage caused by rust and moisture.

To take care of your great tools, here are a few simple steps to follow:

- After use, wipe them down with a cloth and store them in a dry place if possible.

- Protect the steel with our Niwaki Camellia oil or another protective oil to prevent rust.

- Clean dirt and rust off the steel with our Niwaki Crean Mate scouring "eraser".

- Oil or wax the handle from time to time.

- For tools with a sharpened edge, sharpen them regularly

- The wood of the handle expands and contracts, and the head may loosen. In this case, gently tap the wedge with a hammer to swell the wood and secure the tool head.

Solsona is a small, well-preserved town in Catalonia, at the foot of the Pyrenees, where the knife industry is a tradition dating back to the 16th century.

This industry reached its peak there in the 18th century, when it boasted 24 workshops grouped within the guild of Saint-Eloi, the patron saint of cutlers. Today, only one remains... the Pallares workshop.

The Pallares company was founded in 1917 by brothers Lluis and Carles Pallares Canal. It is managed today by David Pallares, the third generation of artisan cutlers.

The reason Pallares still exists is that, unlike the other artisans in the town, it succeeded in modernizing in the 1960s and expanding its market to the rest of Spain and Europe.

It is also and above all thanks to the quality of its steel, and the sharpness of its blades, all of which are finished and sharpened by hand!

Famous for its knives, the artisanal company still produces hand-forged garden tools in the purest Catalan tradition. Highly functional and efficient, they are magnificent testaments to ancestral craftsmanship.
