Unique blades:
Silky saw blades are manufactured from authentic high-end Japanese steel and are laser-cut. The blades are of unparalleled quality: they are very hard and durable, while at the same time remaining flexible thanks to the soft metal core.
- Hard and wear-resistant
The chemical composition of the metal combined with the unique heating and cooling process determines the metal's high hardness. The high carbon content leads to high wear resistance, so the edge remains sharp for a very long time.
- Soft and flexible
The saws are forged in such a way that the core of the teeth consists of soft metal, giving the blade a flexibility that bites into wood with ease.
Silky saws, like all Japanese saws, are designed to CUT ON THE PULL STROKE. They guarantee a precise, effortless cut. You must never force the cut, LET THE SAW DO THE WORK; you will avoid unnecessary fatigue, prevent damage, and prolong its lifespan.
The position of your hand on the handle changes how the wood is cut. When you hold the handle with your hand close to the blade, you exert little pressure and cut smaller amounts of wood. This allows you to perform more precise tasks. When you handle the saw with your hand far from the blade, you saw faster but with much less precision.
Take care of your saw. Keep the blade clean, otherwise cutting efficiency will be reduced. Resin dissolves with olive oil, an effective, gentle, and ecological way to maintain the blade. Be careful: if you use an aggressive product, it could damage the handle's coating.
Always dry the saw well after use, then store it in the provided sheath. Keep it in a dry place.
