During the era of the cult of Cérès, the Roman goddess of agriculture, oats were considered a wild grass. Today, they are renowned for their benefits and are incorporated here in the form of oat milk, which provides a creamy lather and soothes sensitive skin. Free from essential oils and fragrance, this generously gentle soap is suitable for both babies and the most fragile skin. The natural color comes from a paprika macerate.

Handmade in the Loire region by Julie Darnat, founder of Mirlo, in small batches using the cold-saponification process.

Mirlo, botanical soap maker since 2020

Mirlo was founded by Julie Darnat in December 2020, in the Monts de la Madeleine, where she practices artisanal cold-saponification. The name Mirlo, meaning "blackbird" in Spanish, is a nod to Chantemerle-les-Blès, the village where she grew up.

Nature is an integral part of Mirlo's botanical care products and how they are made. Each formula is inspired by living things and aims to respect them through reasoned choices. The range is crafted in a very artisanal manner, in limited batches, using rigorously selected raw materials.

Cold saponification

A manual, slow, and low-energy technique. Raw oils and butters are mixed without added heat, which preserves their active properties. Each bar is cut by hand and left to cure for at least four weeks. The result: gentle, nourishing soaps that take care of your skin.

Local and reasoned sourcing

Julie harvests some raw materials herself, such as immortelle and plantain, depending on the season and local resources. The hemp oil is organic and local, grown and pressed in the Loire region, 30 minutes from the workshop. When local sourcing is not possible (coconut oil, essential for lather, does not grow in France), she prioritizes fair-trade and certified organic suppliers. The same logic applies to the packaging: regional printer, quality paper.
