Kovotvar has been producing accessories for the home and garden with a simple, functional design since 1953. Manufacturing at the workshop in Kúty, Slovakia, remains entirely artisanal. Kovotvar products require little maintenance; they are extremely sturdy, watertight, and last for a very, very long time.
The Top’la cooperative was founded in 1953 in Kúty, Slovakia, by wheelwrights, carpenters, and blacksmiths. In 1964, it became the company KOVOTVAR by merging with other local cooperatives, expanded, and broadened its scope of activity by taking over the production of galvanized products and the modernization of zinc furnaces.
During the communist era, Kovotvar Kúty supplied the entire Slovak population with zinc-galvanized buckets and watering cans. Today, these simple, practical, and timeless home and garden accessories have not changed.
Manufacturing has remained entirely artisanal; while competitors coat products with zinc on automated lines, in Kúty it is done by hand, always in pursuit of the highest manufacturing quality.
The long lifespan and low costs make hot-dip galvanizing the most economical method of protecting steel against corrosion, and zinc coating reduces energy consumption.
Unlike conventional industrial varnishes, the electrostatic powder paints used avoid the need for chemical solvents and release very few volatile compounds, both of which are dangerous to health and the environment. They allow for the manufacture of objects suitable for indoor use, objects suitable for food contact, or toys for children. It is highly resistant to humidity, UV rays, corrosion, impacts, scratches, etc. It offers an excellent lifespan and requires only minimal maintenance.
It is for all these reasons that Kovotvar products are extremely healthy, solid, completely watertight, and last for a very, very long time.
