LABS S20x BINOCULAR MICROSCOPE - STEREOSCOPIC VISION - CELESTRON
CELESTRON LABS S20: The stereo microscope for discovering the infinitely small.
Unlike a standard microscope used to observe flat, often prepared specimens, the stereo microscope observes objects just as they are, in 3D, with no preparation required. It is very easy to use: place an insect, a feather, a leaf, or a pebble down and observe it directly. That’s it.
At 20x magnification, an insect wing becomes an architectural masterpiece, a piece of moss a miniature forest, and a grain of sand a sculpture. And thanks to stereoscopic vision, the image appears in relief. You truly see objects in three dimensions, exactly as they are.
The head is tilted at 45° so you can observe without straining your neck. Top and bottom LED lighting reveals every detail. The focus knob is easily accessible with one hand. Lightweight and battery-operated, it can be used anywhere, from home to the field. Comes with two insect specimens, two stage plates, a protective cover, and AA batteries.
How to use your stereo microscope
Adjust the eyepiece spacing: move the two eyepieces apart or closer together until you see a single, perfect circle.
Place the subject: position your specimen on the stage plate, directly under the objective lens.
Choose the stage plate: two interchangeable plates to optimize contrast. White plate for dark objects (insects, rocks, bark). Black plate for light or translucent objects (petals, wings, seeds).
Choose the lighting: top lighting for opaque and solid objects: the light comes from above to reveal textures and relief. Bottom lighting for thin, translucent objects: the light passes through the subject to reveal internal structures. Use both combined to play with the light and discover unsuspected details.
Focus: turn the center knob until the image is sharp.
What to observe? A dragonfly wing, a flower, a feather, moss, a butterfly scale, a seed, a piece of bark, a mushroom, a sleeping ladybug... The garden and nature are brimming with subjects. Everything you pick up on a walk is worth placing under the microscope.

Celestron: a passion for observation
Celestron began as a small garage business in California in 1960. Tom Johnson, a passionate engineer, founded Celestron-Pacific after building a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope for his sons—a revolutionary optical system that remains the world's best-selling mirror telescope to this day. Since then, Celestron has expanded its offerings well beyond astronomy into sports optics and microscopy, ensuring the world of observation is accessible to as many people as possible.
