BLACK IRON CASSEROLE WITH LID - DETACHABLE HANDLE - GLAMPING POT - ⌀ 15 cm - NETHERTON FOUNDRY
A genuine trapper's pan in "spun black iron," ideal for cooking over a campfire or camp stove, as well as on any heat source, stove, oven, or induction cooktop.
The handle, secured by solid brass wing nuts, detaches for easy storage in your backpack, allowing you to carry your pan anywhere. The wood on the handle and lid (British oak) can also be removed for oven use.
Similar in properties to cast iron, but significantly lighter at 50% less weight, the 99.1% pure spun iron offers excellent cooking performance, very high conductivity and heat retention, heats evenly, and withstands ultra-high temperatures.
Seasoning allows for very healthy, fat-free cooking; it is the natural non-stick solution. Already pre-seasoned with natural organic flax oil, Netherton products are ready to use.
Durable and improving with age, a Netherton product is passed down from generation to generation. Each product is "spun" by hand; every piece is unique and may differ slightly. Handcrafted in Shropshire (UK).

Care:
- Simply wash with hot water.
- Do not use soap or detergent.
- Dry immediately.
- If needed, re-season your pan, lid, wok, pot, or dish by following the instructions here: https://www.netherton-foundry.co.uk/product_care/cast-black-spun-iron-care
- Oven seasoning is gentler than seasoning over a flame or stovetop and also provides a better finish.
Use:
- Be patient; before turning food, allow the Maillard reaction to occur—it’s so much better! Surface caramelization preserves the food's natural juices and keeps the inside tender. It will release easily.
- Do not cook food directly from the refrigerator; let it come to room temperature first.
- Heat slowly, then you can use full power. This is particularly important if you are using powerful stovetops like induction.
- Remove handle covers for use in the oven or under the grill; it's very simple.
- Never plunge a hot pan into cold water.
- The more you use your pan, pot, dish, etc., the more the patina develops, and the better they perform!
Netherton Foundry is a family-owned business located in South Shropshire.
Once the cradle of the Industrial Revolution, it was the "Silicon Valley" of the 18th century. Today, Netherton Foundry continues the knowledge and traditions of the Shropshire ironmasters of the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly Abraham Darby.
"We want to revisit the values that inspired this incredible period of creativity and energy."
Netherton Foundry has made it their mission to produce everything using materials sourced primarily from Shropshire and neighboring counties. And, for subcontracted work, to only work with the best craftsmen in their region.
Netherton Foundry's other goal is to minimize their impact as much as possible. They already know all their materials and their suppliers.
They only use quality, durable materials.
Every creation can be restored, and actually improves with time!
Everything is recyclable, from the iron to the natural packaging used.
