FORIS PLATE - PLATE / PAN / LID - 19.5 CM - ASH GREEN - KINTO
Small enamelled stainless steel plate, 19.5 cm in diameter. Used as a frying pan with its removable handle (sold separately), as a lid for the FORIS 19.5 cm bowl/pot, or as a small oven dish.
FORIS is functional beauty. A collection of enamelled stainless steel tableware designed for camping, barbecues, and the great outdoors, as well as for home and everyday life. The clean design and natural colors blend perfectly into a wild environment, in harmony with the landscape.
Practical, easy to store and transport, each piece is stackable, like a camping mess kit. The stainless steel is thin, lightweight, yet strong and rust-resistant.
The originality of Kinto's design is its multi-functionality, thanks to the slot created on the side, which allows each piece to be used with a removable handle to turn it into a cooking utensil: FORIS is not just a plate, bowl, or cup, it is a frying pan, a saucepan, a lid, or an oven dish. The slot also allows the tableware to be hung from hooks for easy drying. Unlike conventional enamelled tableware with curled edges, the straight, thin-edged design prevents water from pooling, which speeds up drying.
FORIS enamel properties:
- Stainless steel base: it does not rust
- Very strong, durable, and lightweight stackable pieces
- Stain and odor resistant
- Suitable for direct heat, gas or electric, oven, wood fire
- Dishwasher safe
- WARNING: do not use in the microwave
JIN KURAMOTO
To imagine this collection, Kinto called upon Jin Kuramoto, an industrial designer passionate about the outdoors and an experienced fisherman. Renowned for giving projects' concepts and stories a distinct form, he contributed numerous ideas from his personal experience, such as the slots in the bowl to facilitate drying and the attachment of the handle to transform them into cooking utensils.
Jin is a director of the Japan Creative Association and vice-chairman of the Good Design Award screening committee.
KINTO
Kinto was founded in 1979 in Hikone, Shiga Prefecture, Japan, in a rural landscape with no train station or main road nearby.
This is where the designers create simple, beautiful, and functional objects: a Japanese philosophy designed for everyday life.
In 2023, the KINTO FARM was launched, a farm born from scratch on raw land, an exploration field for a lifestyle linked to nature, the seasons, and the community.
KINTO encourages a sustainable lifestyle, creates designs that adapt to all ways of life—sedentary or nomadic, indoor or outdoor—designs that accompany you everywhere, at any time of the day.
