ROBIN CALL - QUELLE EST BELLE COMPANY
Call the friends of the gardens and the woods 🎶
With a bright orange chest, olive-brown back, and large round black eyes, the robin is one of the most familiar birds in our gardens. Close to humans, it does not hesitate to follow gardeners who are digging—those "useful large mammals" that bring a multitude of worms, larvae, and insects hidden in the soil to the surface.
Solitary, it sings all year round to mark its territory: it tolerates no rivals and may fight to the death with its beak to defend it.
Using a bird call means learning to recognize birds by their song, communicating with them, discovering them, observing them…
A bird call is above all an educational nature game for pleasure, because we believe that we must "know nature better to protect it better."
Each bird call is delivered in a lovely wooden box, with all the information needed for its use. Handcrafted in the Drôme region.
Material: Metal and Wood

Imitating the robin
Too difficult to replicate with breath! François Morel thought of wood and metal elements. By rubbing them against each other, a sound became a Robin. Hold the bird call with your left hand by the metal part and turn the wooden part with your thumb and index finger, gently, while applying light pressure.

MANUFACTURING
Quelle Est Belle Company bird calls have been created and handcrafted for over 40 years by François Morel and his team in the Drôme, in a farmhouse in the heart of the vegetation and a preserved natural environment. It is there that he designs, develops at length, and tests all his creations. Each bird call is unique, turned, assembled, and varnished by hand. He uses only natural and local wood species, such as boxwood, beech, or linden. There are only 2 bird call manufacturers left in France; the other is intended for hunting.

QUELLE EST BELLE COMPANY
"One might think I'm a bit crazy, but well..."
From the age of 6, François Morel (not the actor, mind you) began to be fascinated by birds:
"I am completely crazy about them, that's clear. When I was very little, what I wanted was to talk to animals. I believe it works. Thanks to my speech tools, I manage to get a little closer to the birds, listen to them, answer them, and have, from time to time, exchanges..."
A naturalist and ornithologist, François Morel dedicates a passion to the crafting of his bird calls. Rather than being used to kill, François wanted the bird calls to become a tool for observing birds. To create these instruments, he combines two qualities. "It's a story of tinkering and a love story." He set up his company, "Quelle est belle company," over forty years ago in the Diois, north of the Drôme.
Good to know 😉: Björk recently fell in love with his work. She released a Deluxe version of her album "Utopia" accompanied by 14 bird calls, the "Utopia Bird Call Box," manufactured by QBC.
