"Spun black iron" frying pan, handcrafted in Shropshire (UK), suitable for all heat sources, from your kitchen stove to the campfire.

Similar in properties to cast iron, but much lighter at 50% of the weight, the 99.1% pure spun iron offers excellent cooking performance, very high conductivity and heat retention, heats evenly, and withstands ultra-high temperatures.

Seasoning allows for very healthy, low-fat cooking; it is the natural non-stick solution. Pre-seasoned with natural organic flax oil, Netherton products are ready to use.

The ebonized oak handles are naturally dyed through the oxidation of black tea with iron, vinegar, and the tannins in the oak.

Durable and improving with age, a Netherton product is passed down from generation to generation.

Each product is hand-spun; every piece is unique and may differ slightly.

    Care:

    Use:

    • Be patient; before flipping food, allow the Maillard reaction to occur—it's so much better! Surface caramelization keeps the food's natural juices inside while keeping it tender. It will detach easily.
    • Do not cook food straight from the refrigerator; let it come to room temperature.
    • Heat slowly, then you can go to full power. This is especially important if you are using high-power hobs such as induction.
    • Remove the handle covers for use in the oven or under the broiler; it’s very simple.
    • Never plunge a hot pan into cold water.
    • The more you use your pan, pot, dish, etc., the more the patina develops, and the better they get!

Netherton Foundry is a family-owned business located in south Shropshire.

Once the cradle of the Industrial Revolution, this was the "Silicon Valley" of the 18th century. Today, Netherton Foundry continues the knowledge and traditions of the Shropshire ironmasters of the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly Abraham Darby.

"We want to revisit the values that inspired this incredible period of creativity and energy."

Netherton Foundry has made it their mission to produce everything using materials sourced mainly from Shropshire and neighboring counties, and for subcontracted work, to work only with the best craftsmen in their region.

Netherton Foundry's other goal is to minimize their impact as much as possible. They already know all their materials and their suppliers.

They only use quality, durable materials.

Every creation can be restored, and actually improves with time!

Everything is recyclable, from the iron to the natural packaging used.
