BREAD/CAKE MOLD - NETHERTON FOUNDRY
"Spun iron" bread or cake tin, handcrafted in Shropshire (UK), suitable for use in all ovens: electric, gas, or wood-fired.
Similar to the properties of cast iron but much lighter at 50% less weight, 99.1% pure spun iron offers excellent cooking performance, high conductivity and good heat retention, heats evenly, and withstands ultra-high temperatures.
Seasoned with natural organic flax oil for very healthy, fat-free cooking, this is the natural non-stick solution for easy release.
Indestructible and improving with time, a Netherton product is meant to be passed down from generation to generation.

Care:
- Wash simply with hot water.
- Do not use soap or detergent.
- Dry immediately.
- If needed, re-season your pan, lid, wok, pot or dish by following the instructions here: https://www.netherton-foundry.co.uk/product_care/cast-black-spun-iron-care
- Oven seasoning is gentler than stove-top seasoning and also provides a better finish.
Use:
- Be patient; before turning food, let the Maillard reaction take place—it’s so much better! Surface caramelization preserves the food's natural juices while keeping it tender inside. It will release easily.
- Do not cook food straight from the refrigerator; let it come to room temperature.
- Heat slowly, then you can go to full power. This is particularly important if you are using powerful cooking surfaces such as induction.
- Remove handle covers for use in the oven or under the grill; it's very simple.
- Never plunge a hot pan into cold water.
- The more you use your pan, pot, dish, etc., the more the patina develops, and the better they get!
Netherton Foundry is a family-owned business located in South Shropshire.
Once the cradle of the Industrial Revolution, it was the "Silicon Valley" of the 18th century. Today, Netherton Foundry carries on the knowledge and traditions of the Shropshire ironmasters of the 18th and 19th centuries, most notably Abraham Darby.
"We want to revisit the values that inspired this incredible period of creativity and energy."
Netherton Foundry has made it their mission to produce everything using materials sourced primarily from Shropshire and neighboring counties. And for subcontracting work, to work only with the best craftsmen in their region.
Netherton Foundry’s other goal is to minimize their impact as much as possible. They already know all their materials and their suppliers.
They use only high-quality, sustainable materials.
Each creation can be restored, and even improves with time!
Everything is recyclable, from the iron to the natural packaging used.
