Hand Forged Garden Claw - Red Pig Tools
The garden claw helps refine the soil and breaks the crusts formed by the sun or heavy rain.
The work of the claw loosens the soil, allowing air, earthworms and rain to do their work in decompacted soil.
Aeration of the soil facilitates the penetration of water into the earth and then guarantees good growth of plants.
The garden claw is also ideal for weeding around your plants without damaging your crops.
The handle is made of Hickory, a typical American wood, hard and resistant.
The brand is forged by Seth Pauley and his team in Oregon, USA. Old-fashioned work, by hand:
“We use steel, fire, anvil, and good, honest sweat”*
Each product is unique and different.

These protective layers will help prevent damage caused by rust and moisture.
To take care of your great tools, here are a few simple steps to follow:
- After use, wipe them down with a cloth and store them away from moisture if possible.
- Protect the steel with our Niwaki Camellia Oil or another protective oil to prevent rust.
- Clean dirt and rust off the steel with our Niwaki Crean Mate rust eraser.
- Oil or wax the handle from time to time.
- For tools with a sharpened edge, sharpen them regularly with our Smith’s sharpening stone or a tool file.

SETH PAULEY
Seth is an artisan, writer, student of history, as well as a blacksmith and traveler.
A lifetime devoted to the creative arts—from writing and ceramics to woodworking and now blacksmithing—Seth’s interest in history and the study of ancient crafts led him to research and discover his own manufacturing techniques.
Seth has followed an unconventional career path. He first taught creative writing and literature at Temple University in Philadelphia; he is the co-founder of a literary magazine; he has written and edited for various publications related to arts and culture; and he spent many years supporting small, family-owned American makers of high-quality products.
Now, he is putting all those skills acquired over the years to work by focusing on the manufacturing of Red Pig tools.
