PARKING AND TABLE KNIFE - OLIVE WOOD HANDLE - 10 CM BLADE - PALLARES SOLSONA
Versatile, table or paring knife, handy and precise, 10cm stainless steel blade, traditional Catalan turned olive wood handle.
Each knife is unique and is sharpened by hand.
Handcrafted by Pallares, cutlers since 1917 in Solsona, at the foot of the Spanish Catalan Pyrenees.
Solsona is a preserved small town in Catalonia, at the foot of the Pyrenees, where the knife industry is a tradition dating back to the 16th century.
This industry reached its peak there in the 18th century, when it boasted 24 workshops grouped under the guild of Saint-Eloi, the patron saint of cutlers. Today, only one remains... the Pallares workshop.
The Pallares company was founded in 1917 by brothers Lluis and Carles Pallares Canal. It is managed today by David Pallares, the third generation of artisan cutlers.
If Pallares still exists, it is because, unlike the other artisans in the town, it managed to modernize in the 1960s and expand its market to the rest of Spain and Europe.
It is also, and above all, thanks to the quality of its steel! And the quality of the cutting edge of its blades, all of which are finished and sharpened by hand!
Famous for its knives, the artisanal company still produces hand-forged garden tools in the purest Catalan tradition. Highly functional and efficient, they are magnificent testaments to ancestral know-how.
