DUO BOX - THE ADORABLES - SPARROW & ROSSIGNOL - QBC
Call friends of gardens and woods 🎶
These are certainly our easiest calls to use, without blowing,
Sedentary and gregarious, the HOUSE SPARROW is probably the most stay-at-home species in Western Europe. It lives almost everywhere where man is present.
IMITATE THE HOUSE SPARROW : Among sparrows, we cannot really speak of song. Rather, it is cries with territorial value, brief and tirelessly repeated on the territory, which take the place of song. To imitate the Sparrow, do not blow. Very easy to use, just hold the call in one hand then give small, discreet blows with the other. Take the rhythm, particular to each sparrow.
The PHILOMELA ROSSIGNOL is known for its admirable song, one of the most melodious and complex of our common birds. He sings day and night. The young male thus marks his territory, or tries to seduce the females.
IMITATE THE NIGHTINGALE : François Morel shows you how to use the call: click here 🎵 ! A very simple call to play, just turn the wooden part with light pressure, and the nightingale song comes from the friction against the metal part.
Using a call means learning to recognize birds by their song, communicating with them, discovering them, observing them…
A call is above all an educational nature game for fun, because we believe that we need to “know nature better to better protect it”.
Gift box with two calls, with all the information necessary for its use.
Material: Boxwood, metal, leather
Handcrafted in Drome, France.
The Blackbird whistles; like him, whistle four to six times saying "Co - co - co". You can also inhale in short puffs, with your lips pursed.
The Pigeon coos; hold the call in one hand while covering the hole with the washer using your index finger and raise it to your mouth as if it were a glass.
Blow into the slot in short, cooing bursts.
Use the trilling technique (roll your tongue) and make a small "Coo" at the start of each breath.
By lifting your index finger, you change the sound. "Ou - Rou - Cou".
Quelle Est Belle Company bird calls have been handcrafted for over 40 years by François Morel and his team in the Drôme region, on a farm in the heart of lush, preserved nature.
This is where he designs, painstakingly develops, and tests all his creations.
Each bird call is unique, turned, assembled, and varnished by hand.
He uses only natural, local wood species, such as boxwood, beech, or linden.
There are only two bird call manufacturers left in France; the other is dedicated to hunting..
"You might think I'm a bit of a crackpot, but oh well..."
From the age of 6, François Morel (not the actor, mind you) began to get fascinated by birds.
"I'm completely crazy about them, that's for sure. When I was very little, what I wanted was to talk to animals. I believe it works. Thanks to my vocal tools, I manage to get a little closer to the birds, listen to them, answer them, and have, from time to time, exchanges..."
A naturalist and ornithologist, François Morel devotes a passion to crafting his bird calls. Rather than using them for hunting, François wanted the calls to become a tool for observing birds.
To create these instruments, he combines two qualities. "It's a story of tinkering and a love story."
He set up his company "Quelle est belle company" more than forty years ago in the Diois region, in the north of the Drôme.
Good to know 😉: Björk recently fell in love with his work. She released a Deluxe version of her album "Utopia" accompanied by 14 bird calls, the "Utopia Bird Call Box," manufactured by QBC.
