Call friends of gardens and woods 🎶

The Long-eared Owl is not shy, it relies on the mimicry of its plumage to go unnoticed.

It can be found in gardens, parks in urbanized areas, in the heart of villages, industrial wastelands, on the outskirts of forests... provided that it has a clear hunting area and trees for nesting.

The best time to chat is in March, during the parade. At nightfall we hear the male’s “ououuh”

Using a call means learning to recognize birds by their song, communicating with them, discovering them, observing them…

A call is above all an educational nature game for fun, because we believe that we need to “know nature better to better protect it”.

Each call is delivered in a pretty wooden box, with all the information necessary for its use

Material : Wood

Handcrafted in France

The best time to communicate is between March and late April, during the mating season. At nightfall, you can hear the male's "hoo-hoo"; imitate him, it’s very easy! Reproduce this sound every 2 seconds.

François Morel shows you how to use the call:  click here 🎵

You can also use this call to contact the Short-eared Owl and the Eurasian Eagle-Owl.

A very resonant call to be used with caution so as not to disturb the species. The Long-eared Owl is found throughout Europe. The species is protected.

Remember to record your observations and share them with nature conservation organizations. This data will help improve the protection of the environments where these species live.

Quelle Est Belle Company bird calls have been handcrafted for over 40 years by François Morel and his team in the Drôme region, on a farm in the heart of lush, pristine nature.

It is there that he designs, meticulously develops, and tests all of his creations.

Each bird call is unique, turned, assembled, and varnished by hand.

He uses only natural and local wood species, such as boxwood, beech, or linden.

There are only 2 bird call manufacturers left in France, the other is dedicated to hunting..

"People might think I'm a bit of a crackpot, but oh well..."

From the age of 6, François Morel (not the actor, mind you) began to get fascinated by birds.

"I'm completely crazy about them, that’s for sure. When I was really little, what I wanted was to talk to animals. I believe it works. Thanks to my speech tools, I manage to get a little closer to the birds, listen to them, answer them, and, from time to time, have exchanges..."

A naturalist and ornithologist, François Morel is devoted to the craft of making bird calls. Rather than using them to kill, François wanted the calls to become a tool for observing birds.

To create these instruments, he blends two qualities. "It's a story of craftsmanship and a story of love."

He established his business, "Quelle est belle company," over forty years ago in the Diois region, in the north of the Drôme.

Fun fact 😉: Björk recently fell in love with his work. She released a Deluxe version of her album "Utopia" accompanied by 14 bird calls, the "Utopia Bird Call Box," manufactured by QBC.
