Kovotvar has been producing accessories for the garden and home with a simple, functional design since 1953. Manufacturing at the workshop in Kúty, Slovakia, has remained entirely artisanal. Kovotvar products require little maintenance, they are extremely sturdy, and last for a very, very long time.
The Top’la cooperative was founded in 1953 in Kúty, Slovakia, by wheelwrights, carpenters, and blacksmiths. In 1964, it became KOVOTVAR, merging with other local cooperatives, expanding its scope of activities by taking over the production of galvanized products and the modernization of zinc furnaces.
During the communist era, Kovotvar Kúty supplied the entire Slovak population with galvanized buckets and watering cans. Today, these home and garden accessories, with their simple, practical, and timeless design, remain unchanged.
Manufacturing remains entirely artisanal; while competitors coat their products with zinc on automated lines, in Kúty, it is done by hand, always with a focus on the highest manufacturing quality.
The long service life and low costs make hot-dip galvanization the most economical method for protecting steel against corrosion; galvanizing reduces energy consumption.
Unlike traditional industrial varnishes, electrostatic powder paints avoid the use of chemical solvents and release very few volatile compounds, both of which are hazardous to health and the environment. They allow for the creation of items suitable for indoor use, objects safe for food contact, or children's toys. It is highly resistant to humidity, UV rays, corrosion, impacts, scratches, etc. It offers an excellent lifespan and requires only minimal maintenance.
It is for all these reasons that Kovotvar products are extremely healthy, solid, completely watertight, and last for a very, very long time.
