Box of 3 calls - Country Garden - European Goldfinch, Great Tit, Torchepot Nuthatch - QUELLE EST BELLE COMPANY
Call the friends of the gardens,
Sit quietly, calmly, at the foot of a tree or a hedge, and chat with the most beautiful birds in our gardens 🎵🎶
- The Nuthatch is essentially a forest bird, but it is found in all wooded habitats such as parks and gardens, including in towns, old orchards, and wooded hedges. The Nuthatch is one of the most vocal passerines in spring, you can't miss it!
- The American Goldfinch is a very common bird, it is found everywhere, in parks and gardens in town or in the countryside. He loves to swim, he will often appear at the water's edge, don't hesitate to give him a little bath in your garden! Because of its beautiful colors and its pleasant song, the American Goldfinch has long been coveted as a cage bird... it was even crossed with canaries 😢
- The Great Tit really lives everywhere, in town or in the countryside. She likes the proximity of men, especially those who feed her in winter. If you don't see her, whistle her song, first she will answer you, then appear!
Using a call means learning to recognize birds by their song, communicating with them, discovering them, observing them…
A call is above all an educational nature game for fun, because we believe that we need to “know nature better to better protect it”.
Wooden gift box with three calls.
- The Nuthatch: Using the call, it is possible to imitate its usual "twee-twee-twee" cry. Hold the call like a pipe. Blow in short, quick puffs, "twee-twee-twee." Try to create a lively sound, with a beginning (t), a peak (u), and an end (i) that are both distinct and blended. The nuthatch is very talkative! - The European Goldfinch: Hold the call between your thumb and two smallest fingers. Blow in short, jerky bursts, rolling your tongue. Use your index and middle fingers to play with blocking the ends to get a liquid, pretty "chirp." François Morel shows you how to use the call: click here 🎵
- The Great Tit has a wide vocabulary. Its little cries are varied, changeable, and alert. Mainly "Tee-tee-poo" and also "Twee-twee." Hold the call with your thumb and middle finger. Blow very calmly twice, clearly enunciated, then cover the hole—on the boxwood—with your index finger and blow once more. Repeat several times: "Tee-tee-poo - Tee-tee-poo." Quelle Est Belle Company bird calls have been handcrafted for over 40 years by François Morel and his team in the Drôme region, on a farm in the heart of lush, preserved nature.
This is where he designs, painstakingly develops, and tests all his creations.
Each bird call is unique, turned, assembled, and varnished by hand.
He uses only natural and local wood species, such as boxwood, beech, or linden.
There are only two bird call manufacturers left in France; the other is dedicated to hunting.
“You might think I’m a bit of a crank, but oh well…”
From the age of 6, François Morel (not the actor, mind you) began to fascinate himself with birds.
“I’m completely crazy about them, that much is clear. When I was very small, what I wanted was to talk to animals. Personally, I believe it works. Thanks to my speech tools, I manage to get a bit closer to the birds, listen to them, answer them, and have, from time to time, exchanges…”
A naturalist and ornithologist, François Morel devotes a passion to crafting his bird calls. Rather than using them to kill, François wanted the calls to become a tool for observing birds.
To create these instruments, he blends two qualities. “It’s a story of craftsmanship and a story of love.”
He established his company, “Quelle est belle company,” over forty years ago in the Diois region, in the north of the Drôme.
Worth knowing 😉: Björk recently fell in love with his work. She released a Deluxe version of her album “Utopia” accompanied by 14 bird calls, the “Utopia Bird Call Box,” manufactured by QBC.
