ROSSIGNOL CALL - WHAT IS A BEAUTIFUL COMPANY
Call the friends of the gardens and woods 🎶
The Common Nightingale is known for its admirable song, one of the most melodious and complex of our common birds. It sings both day and night. The young male marks its territory in this way, or attempts to woo females.
The common nightingale is a great nocturnal migrant. In early September, it migrates to sub-Saharan Africa, and heads back north from mid-March. In Europe, it lives mainly in two types of habitats: open woodlands near water, and forest edges or clearings. It can also frequent gardens and cultivated land. In folk traditions, the nightingale announces spring, and is a symbol of love. The trills of the nightingale were once reputed to soothe pain & accelerate healing.
IMITATE THE NIGHTINGALE: François Morel shows you how to use the bird call: click here🎵! A very simple bird call to play; you just turn the wooden part with light pressure, and the nightingale's song arises from the friction against the metal part.
Using a bird call means learning to recognize birds by their song, communicating with them, discovering them, observing them…
A bird call is above all an educational nature toy for pleasure, because we believe that we must "better know nature to better protect it".
Each bird call is delivered in a lovely wooden box, with all the necessary information for its use. Handcrafted in the Drôme region.
Material: Metal and Boxwood
Quelle Est Belle Company bird calls have been handcrafted for over 40 years by François Morel and his team in the Drôme region, on a farm set in the heart of lush, unspoiled nature.
It is there that he designs, painstakingly develops, and tests all of his creations.
Each bird call is unique, turned, assembled, and varnished by hand.
He uses only natural, local wood species, such as boxwood, beech, or linden.
There are only 2 bird call manufacturers left in France, the other is dedicated to hunting..
“People might think I’m a bit of a crackpot, but oh well…”
From the age of 6, François Morel (not the actor, mind you) began to get fascinated by birds.
“I’m completely crazy about them, that’s for sure. When I was a little kid, what I wanted was to talk to animals. I believe it works. Thanks to my speech tools, I manage to get a little closer to the birds, listen to them, answer them, and have, from time to time, exchanges…”
A naturalist and ornithologist, François Morel dedicates a passion to crafting his bird calls. Rather than using them for killing, François wanted the calls to become a tool for observing birds.
To create these instruments, he combines two qualities. “It’s a story of craftsmanship and a love story.”
He established his company, “Quelle est belle company,” over forty years ago in the Diois region, in the north of the Drôme.
Fun fact 😉: Björk recently fell in love with his work. She released a Deluxe version of her album “Utopia” accompanied by 14 bird calls, the “Utopia Bird Call Box,” manufactured by QBC.
