"Black iron" cake pan, handcrafted in Shropshire (UK), suitable for use in all ovens: electric, gas, or wood-fired. Versatile for both savory and sweet preparations, very robust, with thick walls (2mm), it easily withstands temperatures above 350°C.

Similar in properties to cast iron but much lighter, weighing 50% less, the 99.1% pure spun iron offers excellent cooking performance, very high conductivity and good heat retention, heats evenly, and withstands ultra-high temperatures.

Seasoning with natural organic flax oil allows for very healthy, fat-free cooking; it is the natural non-stick solution for easy release.

Extremely durable and improving with age, a Netherton product is meant to be passed down from generation to generation.

Each product is hand-spun; every piece is unique and may differ slightly.

  • Diameter: 22 cm
  • Walls: 2 mm
  • Height: 3.8 cm
  • Weight: 700g

                • All Netherton products are pre-seasoned and ready for immediate use.

                • The Sussex edible organic flax oil coating is easy to wash and naturally non-stick. The coating can be easily restored at home.
                • Spun iron products are ultra-durable and can be used at very high temperatures. Suitable for all types of hobs, grills, and ovens, as well as barbecues and campfires.
                • Iron is a simple, pure metal that is easy to care for and entirely recyclable.
                • Each product is handmade using regional resources and the finest local craftsmen.
                • A Netherton pan or pot is for life; you will pass them on to future generations!

                Care:

                Use:

                • Be patient; before flipping food, allow the Maillard reaction to occur, it’s so much better! A surface caramelization that preserves the natural juices of the food and keeps the inside tender. It will release easily.
                • Do not cook food straight from the refrigerator; let it come to room temperature.
                • Heat slowly, then you can increase to full power. This is particularly important if you are using powerful stovetops such as induction.
                • Remove the handle covers for use in the oven or under the grill, it’s super simple.
                • Never plunge a hot pan into cold water.
                • The more you use your pan, pot, dish, etc., the more the patina develops, and the better they get!

Netherton Foundry is a family-owned business located in South Shropshire.

Once the cradle of the Industrial Revolution, it was the "Silicon Valley" of the 18th century. Today, Netherton Foundry carries on the knowledge and traditions of the Shropshire ironmasters of the 18th and 19th centuries, particularly Abraham Darby.

"We want to revisit the values that inspired this incredible period of creativity and energy."

Netherton Foundry is committed to producing everything using materials sourced primarily from Shropshire and neighboring counties. And for subcontracting work, to only work with the best craftsmen in their region.

Netherton Foundry's other goal is to minimize their impact as much as possible. They already know all their materials and their suppliers.

They use only high-quality, sustainable materials.

Each creation can be restored, and actually improves with age!

Everything is recyclable, from the iron to the natural packaging used.
