HIKING BINOCULARS - NYROCA - 8X20 - PERL
PERL NYROCA ED 8x20: uncompromising optical quality in a pocket-sized format.
It fits in a jacket pocket, slips into a hiking bag. Always there when the moment arises: the fleeting dash of a stoat, the detail of plumage, the dive of a kingfisher. Light enough never to be a burden in your bag or around your neck.
215g, nitrogen-purged waterproof body, ultra-robust. Despite its mini format, the optics make no compromises: ED glass for vibrant colors and striking realism, BaK4 prisms with phase correction, multi-coated lenses. Image quality you wouldn't expect to find in such small binoculars. Focus and diopter are adjusted with one hand via the central axis, practical when the other hand is holding a hiking pole (or a sandwich :)). Delivered with a belt pouch and neck strap. 10-year warranty.
The Nyroca ED 8x20: to always be ready for action.

Perl, a French brand for nature observation since 1964
Jean Médas founded Perl in Vichy in 1964. As a visionary optician, he was one of the first in Europe to offer observation instruments to the general public. Three generations later, design and after-sales service are still handled from Vichy.
Referenced by the LPO (League for the Protection of Birds) among its recommended instruments, Perl has been equipping ornithologists, naturalists, and nature lovers for over 60 years. A reputation built in the field.
Understanding the numbers
8x42, 10x42 — two simple numbers. The first is the magnification: an 8x brings the image 8 times closer, a 10x brings it 10 times closer. The second is the diameter of the objective lenses in millimeters: the larger it is, the brighter the binoculars. Note: the higher the magnification, the smaller the field of view — you see further, but less wide. In practice, the difference between an 8x and a 10x remains subtle: both offer a very comfortable viewing experience.
How to use your binoculars
For perfect vision, it’s very easy; you just need to get the hang of it:
Twist-up eyecups — ALWAYS EXTEND THEM, IT IS ESSENTIAL. Nearsighted, farsighted, or presbyopic: remove your glasses and extend the eyecups. Astigmatic: keep your glasses on and retract the eyecups.
Adjusting the interpupillary distance — Spread or bring the two barrels closer together until you see a single perfect circle.
Adjusting the vision difference between your two eyes:
- Close your right eye, turn the central focus wheel until the image is sharp for your left eye
- Then close your left eye and fine-tune with the ring on the right eyepiece
- Do this only once! After that, it's set
Focusing — Open both eyes and fine-tune with the central wheel, depending on the distance of your subject.
