Tawny Owl Call - QUELLE EST BELLE COMPANY
Let's hoot with our Owl friend 🎶
The most common species of nocturnal birds of prey in Europe, it is the only one to venture into cities and stay there,
But its favorite places are forest and agricultural regions, parks planted with old trees, large gardens, and wooded cemeteries.
Using a call means learning to recognize birds by their song, communicating with them, discovering them, observing them…
A call is above all an educational nature game for fun, because we believe that we need to “know nature better to better protect it”.
Each call is delivered in a pretty wooden box, with all the information necessary for its use.
Material : Wood
Handcrafted in France
Hold the call and cover the top hole with one hand, and with the index finger of the other, cover the hole at the end.
Blow. A call. Silence, wait a few seconds. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7.
Then blow in soft, jerky bursts. Open the top hole.
Hoot while playing with the opening at the end. Finish by trailing off / trembling "Hoo - hoo hoo hoo"

Quelle Est Belle Company bird calls have been handcrafted for over 40 years by François Morel and his team in the Drôme, on a farm in the heart of lush, preserved nature.
It is there that he designs, painstakingly develops, and tests all of his creations.
Each bird call is unique, turned, assembled, and varnished by hand.
He uses only natural, local wood species, such as boxwood, beech, or linden.
There are only 2 bird call manufacturers left in France; the other is dedicated to hunting..
“You might think I’m a bit eccentric, but oh well…”
From the age of 6, François Morel (not the actor, mind you) began to develop a fascination for birds.
“I’m completely crazy about them, that much is clear. When I was very small, what I wanted was to talk to animals. Personally, I believe it works. Thanks to my vocal tools, I manage to get a bit closer to the birds, listen to them, answer them, and have, from time to time, exchanges…”
A naturalist and ornithologist, François Morel is devoted to the craft of making bird calls. Rather than using them for hunting, François wanted his bird calls to become tools for observing birds.
To make these instruments, he combines two qualities. “It’s a story of craftsmanship and a love story.”
He established his company, “Quelle est belle company,” over forty years ago in the Diois region, in the north of the Drôme.
Worth knowing 😉: Björk recently fell in love with his work. She released a Deluxe version of her album “Utopia” accompanied by 14 bird calls, the “Utopia Bird Call Box,” manufactured by QBC.
