Kovotvar has been producing accessories for the garden and home, with a simple and functional design since 1953. Manufacturing at the Kúty workshop, Slovakia, has remained completely artisanal. Kovotvar products require little maintenance, they are extremely strong, waterproof, and last a very, very long time.
The Top’la cooperative was founded in 1953 in Kúty, Slovakia, by wheelwrights, carpenters, and blacksmiths. In 1964, it became the company KOVOTVAR by merging with other local cooperatives, expanded, and broadened its field of activity by taking over the production of galvanized products and the modernization of zinc furnaces.
During the communist era, Kovotvar Kúty supplied the entire Slovak population with zinc-galvanized buckets and watering cans. Today, these home and garden accessories, with their simple, practical, and timeless design, have not changed.
Manufacturing has remained entirely artisanal; while its competitors coat products with zinc on automated lines, in Kúty, it is done by hand, always striving for the best manufacturing quality.
Long service life and low costs make hot-dip galvanizing the most economical method of protecting steel against corrosion, and zinc coating reduces energy consumption.
Unlike conventional industrial varnishes, the paints used in electrostatic powder form avoid the use of chemical solvents and release very few volatile compounds, both of which are dangerous to health and the environment. They allow for the manufacture of objects suitable for indoor use, objects suitable for food contact, or toys for children. It is highly resistant to humidity, UV rays, corrosion, impacts, scratches, etc. It offers an excellent service life and requires only minimal maintenance.
It is for all these reasons that Kovotvar products are extremely healthy, solid, completely watertight, and last for a very, very long time.
