FINCH CALL - WHAT IS A BEAUTIFUL COMPANY
Call the friends of gardens and woods 🎶
The Common Chaffinch is capable of occupying any wooded environment, from deep forests to the heart of large cities, thanks to parks and gardens. It has an extreme ecological plasticity that makes it one of our most common birds. It is often the passerine with the highest density in forests.
IMITATE THE CHAFFINCH: François Morel shows you how to use the bird call: click here🎵!
You have three holes, easy to block with your fingertips while holding the call to your mouth. Blow a few high-pitched notes (three), then deepen the song, and finish by letting go with a descending trill "Huit Huit Turli U U Ue..." (also possible by inhaling).
Using a bird call means learning to recognize birds by their song, communicating with them, discovering them, observing them...
A bird call is above all an educational nature toy for fun, because we believe that we must "know nature better to better protect it".
Each bird call is delivered in a lovely wooden box, with all the information needed for its use. Handcrafted in the Drôme region.
Material: Metal and Boxwood
Quelle Est Belle Company bird calls have been handcrafted for over 40 years by François Morel and his team in the Drôme region, on a farm surrounded by lush vegetation and preserved nature.
This is where he designs, meticulously develops, and tests all of his creations.
Each bird call is unique, turned, assembled, and varnished by hand.
He uses only natural, local wood species, such as boxwood, beech, or linden.
There are only 2 bird call manufacturers left in France, the other one is intended for hunting..
“You might think I’m a bit of a crank, but oh well…”
From the age of 6, François Morel (not the actor, mind you) began to fascinate himself with birds.
“I’m completely crazy about them, that much is clear. When I was very little, what I wanted was to talk to animals. I believe it works. Thanks to my speech tools, I manage to get a little closer to the birds, listen to them, answer them, and have, from time to time, exchanges…”
A naturalist and ornithologist, François Morel is dedicated to the craft of making bird calls. Rather than using them for hunting, François wanted the calls to become a tool for observing birds.
To create these instruments, he combines two qualities. “It’s a story of craftsmanship and a love story.”
He established his company, “Quelle est belle company,” over forty years ago in the Diois region, in the north of the Drôme.
Fun fact 😉: Björk recently fell in love with his work. She released a Deluxe version of her album “Utopia” accompanied by 14 bird calls, the “Utopia Bird Call Box,” manufactured by QBC.
