Call the friends of the gardens and woods 🎶

With a black cap, white cheeks, and a bright yellow belly crossed by a broad black stripe, the great tit is the largest and most familiar of our tits, present everywhere in France. It is an anthropophilic species: it seeks out human presence and approaches without hesitation.

Not at all shy, it willingly rules the roost at the feeder, using its wings and beak to chase others away! Its song is also the easiest to spot and imitate: a rhythmic, sonorous "Ti Ti Pu - Ti Ti Pu" that is unmistakable. So if you don't see one, whistle its song; first it will answer you, then it will appear.

Using a bird call is about learning to recognize birds by their song, communicating with them, discovering them, observing them…

A bird call is above all an educational nature toy for pleasure, because we believe that "you have to know nature better to protect it better."

Each bird call is delivered in a lovely wooden box, with all the necessary information for its use. Handcrafted in the Drôme region.

Material: Metal and Boxwood

Imitating the great tit

The great tit has a wide vocabulary. Its little chirps are varied, changeable, and alert. Primarily "Titi - pu" and also "Tui tui." Hold the bird call with your thumb and middle finger. Blow very calmly twice, clearly enunciated, then cover the hole on the boxwood with your index finger and blow once more. Repeat several times, "Ti Ti Pu - Ti Ti Pu"…

MANUFACTURING

Quelle Est Belle Company bird calls have been created and handcrafted for over 40 years by François Morel and his team in the Drôme, on a farm in the heart of lush, preserved nature. This is where he designs, extensively refines, and tests all his creations. Each bird call is unique, turned, assembled, and varnished by hand. He uses only natural, local wood species, such as boxwood, beech, or lime. There are only 2 bird call manufacturers left in France; the other is intended for hunting.

QUELLE EST BELLE COMPANY

"You might think I'm a bit crazy, but well..."

From the age of 6, François Morel (not the actor, mind you) began to be fascinated by birds:

"I'm completely crazy about them, that's for sure. When I was very little, what I wanted was to talk to animals. Personally, I think it works. Thanks to my talking tools, I manage to get a little closer to birds, listen to them, answer them, and, from time to time, have exchanges..."

A naturalist and ornithologist, François Morel devotes a passion to crafting his bird calls. Rather than using them to kill, François wanted the bird calls to become a tool for observing birds. To create these instruments, he blends two qualities: "It's a story of tinkering and a love story." He established his company "Quelle est belle company" over forty years ago in the Diois, in the north of the Drôme.

Good to know 😉: Björk recently fell in love with his work. She released a Deluxe version of her album "Utopia" accompanied by 14 bird calls, the "Utopia Bird Call Box" manufactured by QBC.
