GOLDFINCH CALL - WHAT IS BEAUTIFUL COMPANY
Call the friends of the gardens and the woods 🎶
The goldfinch is magnificent, and very common. It lives in orchards, parks, gardens, and other cultivated areas near human activity, but also in open wooded environments, along forest edges, in hedgerows, and along watercourses.
IMITATE THE GOLDFINCH : François Morel shows you how to use the bird call: click here🎵!
Hold the bird call between your thumb and your two smallest fingers. Blow in short bursts, roll your tongue. Use your index and middle fingers to playfully obstruct the ends to produce a fluid and pretty "chirp."
Using a bird call means learning to recognize birds by their song, communicating with them, discovering them, observing them…
A bird call is above all an educational nature toy for pleasure, because we believe that we must "know nature better to better protect it".
Each bird call comes in a pretty wooden box, with all the information needed for its use. Handcrafted in the Drôme.
Material: Metal and Boxwood
Quelle Est Belle Company bird calls have been handcrafted for over 40 years by François Morel and his team in the Drôme region, on a farm in the heart of lush, unspoiled nature.
It is here that he designs, meticulously develops, and tests all of his creations.
Each bird call is unique, turned, assembled, and varnished by hand.
He uses only natural, local wood species, such as boxwood, beech, or linden.
There are only 2 bird call manufacturers left in France; the other is dedicated to hunting..
“You might think I’m a bit of a crackpot, but oh well…”
From the age of 6, François Morel (not the actor, mind you) began to be fascinated by birds.
“I’m completely crazy about them, that’s for sure. When I was very small, what I wanted was to talk to animals. I believe it works. Thanks to my vocal tools, I manage to get a bit closer to the birds, listen to them, answer them, and, from time to time, have exchanges…”
A naturalist and ornithologist, François Morel is devoted to crafting his bird calls. Rather than using them for hunting, François wanted the calls to become a tool for observing birds.
To create these instruments, he combines two qualities. “It’s a story of craftsmanship and a love story.”
He established his company, “Quelle est belle company,” over forty years ago in the Diois region, in the north of the Drôme.
Fun fact 😉: Björk recently fell in love with his work. She released a Deluxe version of her album “Utopia” accompanied by 14 bird calls, the “Utopia Bird Call Box,” manufactured by QBC.
